The actor and BJP MP posted a video on her Instagram stories to address the matter shortly after it was reported that Kangana Ranaut had been slapped by a female CISF constable at Mohali International Airport. Kangana said in the video that she was abused and slapped by CISF officers during the security check, but she also reassured her admirers and well-wishers of her well-being.

I'm getting a lot of calls from the media and well-wishers. I am safe, first of all, and I am fine. At the Chandigarh airport today, something went wrong during the security check. The woman, a CISF security official, waited for me to pass her before hitting me on the side of the face when I emerged from the security check. She began mistreating me. She said that she supported the farmers' protest when I questioned her about the motivation behind her behavior. I'm not in danger, but how can we cope with the increasing terrorism in Punjab? Kangana said.

During questioning, the CISF official stated that Kangana Ranaut made disparaging remarks about Punjabi women during the farmers' protest.

Filmmaker Onir wrote, "Don't agree with Kangana has to say mostly but this assault is unacceptable." in response to the attack on the actress. Those who are applauding this are calling for a society without laws where assault is the preferred method of solving problems. & the people causing the most harm are those who call on farmers to oppose Khalistani once more.

After winning the Mandi seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha Election, Kangana was on her way to Delhi. With more than 74,000 votes, she defeated Vikramaditya Singh of the Congress. She posted several images on her Instagram Stories earlier on Thursday, documenting her trip to Parliament. She can be seen embracing her mother Aasha Ranaut in one picture before she leaves for Delhi. "En route to the Parliament." She wrote in the caption of one of the pictures, "Mandi ki sansad (the Mandi Member of Parliament)." Along with the selfie, Kangana added, "Delhi calling."
