T20 World Cup Final: After India won the match, Virat Kohli said in his own words that he will retire

India won the T20 World Cup at the Kensington Oval in a dramatic final in which they defeated South Africa by seven runs.

After losing the 50-over global Cup final to Australia eight months prior, India finally won a global crown in the Caribbean, capping a 13-year drought.

Shortly after the game, player of the match Virat Kohli announced to the media, "This was my last T20 game playing for India."

India, the 2007 winners, chose to bat on a dry surface and survived a top-order collapse to compile a respectable 176-7.

Axar Patel blasted 47 and Virat Kohli (76) hit his first fifty-score of the World Cup to lead India to a respectable total.
For South Africa, Anrich Nortje and Keshav Maharaj each grabbed two wickets.

After a top-order collapse of their own, the Proteas were able to regain momentum thanks to Quinton de Kock (39), Tristan Stubbs (31), and others.

After that, Heinrich Klaasen (52) launched a stunning counterattack, but India's flawless death-over bowling held South Africa to 169–8.
