Shubman Gill hit 39 runs off of 37 balls for India, and Riyan Parag (26), Washington Sundar (25), and others made significant contributions.

Wanindu Hasaranga and Mahesh Theekshana both claimed wickets for Sri Lanka. Asitha Fernando, Ramesh Mendis, and Chamindu Wickramasinghe each claimed one wicket.

Suryakumar Yadav-led India will play the final match of the T20I series on July 30 against the host team after winning the series against Charith Asalanka-led Sri Lanka at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele on July 28 by a margin of 7 wickets.

India won the series after defeating Sri Lanka twice in two days at Pallekelle: first by 43 runs on July 27 and again by 7 wickets on July 28.

Shubman Gill was injured in the second game, so Sanju Samson was allowed to play. Gill's availability to play in the encounter on Wednesday is still unknown.

India and Sri Lanka will play three one-day international series after the Twenty20 International Series. Rohit Sharma will captain the Indian team in these matches.
